BOOK NOW – An Intimate Music Weekend with Jimmy Nevis
CapeNature and multi-award nominated South African Musician Jimmy Nevis have collaborated to bring conservation tourism to the masses through music. A first of its kind, two-night outdoor camping experience with one of the Cape’s coolest pop hit-makers will be held in the Cederberg Wilderness Area in early 2019.
This summer, musical fans and nature lovers alike will be spoilt with a unique opportunity to spend the weekend camping alongside Nevis and his inner-circle of friends, whilst enjoying the mountain views and intimate acoustic performances. The camp out is set to be held at the popular Algeria campsite, a mere 200 km’ north of Cape Town and right in time for Valentine’s Day weekend celebrations from, 15 to 17 February 2019.
Nevis on why he digs CapeNature
“I am so excited to be a part of the CapeNature family. I did not realise my passion for conservation until a few years back. It was through hiking that I originally discovered my love for nature. I think that conservation is something we should all strive to do naturally.”
Prior to the release of his highly anticipated third studio album, Chimera. The Cape Town born artist spent quite a lot of time in nature drawing significant inspiration from it, as part of his creative process.
“Shooting my visual album at the Kogelberg Nature Reserve was truly inspiring. I was fortunate enough to enjoy a CapeNature reserve stay whilst being creative, which allowed me to recreate those memories. The images were also quite spiritual for me as they symbolised independence and one’s true self,” shares Nevis.
A personal music experience in nature
CapeNature’s Director for Marketing and Eco-Tourism, Sheraaz Ismail says the partnership is a step into a new direction; reaching people of all ages through their love for music to hone in the message of biodiversity conservation and sustainable tourism.
“CapeNature is constantly looking at innovative ways of creating access for all people of the Western Cape to explore and enjoy our precious natural spaces. The camp out with Jimmy Nevis and CapeNature is exactly this, creating an intimate music experience in the wild whilst making personal connections,” added Ismail.
