Call for Comment: Dassen Coastal Complex Management Plan

Notification of Stakeholder Engagement process and an invitation to attend a public meeting to provide inputs and comments to the draft Protected Area Management Plan for the DASSEN COASTAL COMPLEX (Dassen Island, Seal Ledges, Riverlands Nature Reserve and the Ganzekraal Conservation Area).

The objective of this management plan is to ensure that the protection, conservation and management of the Dassen Coastal Complex, is consistent with the objectives of the National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act, Act 57 of 2003 (NEM:PAA) and is managed in accordance with the purpose for which it was declared. Management plans need to be compiled in consultation with stakeholders as prescribed by Section 39(3) of the NEM:PAA, which states that all persons who may be interested in, or affected by the management plan, are to be given the opportunity to comment on its content.

Date and venue of the public meeting:
11th December 2018 at the Yzerfonyein Community Hall (18:00) and
12th December at the Riverlands POP Center (18:00) and
13th December at the Mamre Community Hall (10:00).
Availability of draft management plan. A draft management plan is available at the Yzerfontein and Darling Municipal offices as well as Public Libraries at Malmesbury, Mamre and Atlantis, the Riverlands and Chatsworth POP Centers and the Tierfontein Training Centre or available to download below. All written comment must be sent to the following email address:
