The newly built, two-sleeper Xami Eco Lodge in the Gamkaberg Nature Reserve is beautifully designed to accommodate guests with disabilities. The Sweetthorn Eco Lodge is rustic accommodation built from poles and reeds and wet in a sweet-thorn thicket at the foot of the Gamkaberg. Sleeping six, it’s the ideal spot for a getaway with family or friends. Relax by the eco splash pool, or on the shaded deck, lapa and braai area.
Another option is the Fossil Ridge Eco Lodge, also built from poles and reeds and situated next to the fossil-rich ridge at the foot of the Gamkaberg.
Rocherpan Nature Reserve, a coastal nature reserve teeming with birds lying 25km north of Velddrif on the Cape West Coast, offers eight eco-cabins for overnight stays. Coot, Moorhen, Egret and Shoveler are the four newer double-bedroom cabins, each with a double bed, two single beds and two single day beds (sleeping six in all). Sandpiper, Oystercatcher, Kingfisher and Flamingo each sleep two adults and two children. Expect solar solar geysers and showers and waterless toilets, a gas stove and a closed combustion indoor fireplace and outside braai. All provide universal access.

Rocherpan is a coastal nature reserve teeming with birds and colourful wildflowers. The reserve, which lies 25km north of Velddrif on the Cape West Coast, consists largely of a seasonal vlei that is usually dry between March and June.
