CapeNature’s most favoured film locations amongst scouts, filmmakers, and production agencies include:

  • Telkom Towers at Limietberg Nature Reserve

  • Rockview Dam Road at Kogelberg Nature Reserve

Unlike other reserves, CapeNature allows for the usage of drones on-site so long as users comply with local aviation regulations. Our research in fact indicates that drones limit the carbon footprint left behind by film producers as fewer production personnel are required to walk through reserves while less equipment such as helicopters and motor vehicles are needed to facilitate filming. Drones are also much quieter than motor vehicles and helicopters and don’t require a specific landing pad, both of which result in less damage to the environment.

How CapeNature and partners "Reverse the Red"

Reverse the Red is “a global coalition of conservation organisations and species experts working together to accelerate action to halt and reverse biodiversity loss” and every year, 7 February marks Reverse the Red day. The term stems from the effort conservations make to try and reduce the number of species on the IUCN Red List.
