The Conservation Symposium 2022

11 Jul 2022

CapeNature is proud to partner with the Conservation Symposium, which is an annual event that has been running since 2012. This innovative platform was created to facilitate the sharing of ideas and lessons and the co-creation of solutions to contemporary conservation issues in Africa. Serving as a bridge between conservation practitioners, scientists, and policymakers in a conducive environment to solve real-world problems, it integrates a broad range of disciplines in a meaningful way, creating and strengthening connections both within and between disciplines. It provides an effective platform for researchers to demonstrate the relevance of their work in addressing real-world conservation problems, and identifies new applied research opportunities and directions. It also provides a platform for training and skills development for conservation science and monitoring.

This year the event takes place from 31 October to 4 November 2022. Emerging and ongoing issues identified by the conservation sector will be tackled through careful construction of the programme, including providing a selection of leading international keynote speakers, presentation of synthesis papers, and facilitated discussions.

The Conservation Symposium 2022 will be a FREE HYBRID EVENT (but donations are always welcomed) with a central venue for live streaming pre-recorded and live presentations to multi-hub meetings located across world so that it continues to be affordable and inclusive allowing in-person networking. Each hub will introduce its own local flavour through guest speakers, tours, workshops, networking events, exhibitions, poster displays, and other functions/events.
