Marine Month

Marine Month: A Splashy Celebration for our Feathered Ocean Friends! 🐦🌊

October isn’t just about spring flowers and sneaky sunburns — it’s Marine Month, and the ocean is throwing a party! 🎉

But wait... this isn’t just any ocean bash. It’s all about celebrating and protecting our amazing marine life, especially the superstar seabirds that call the coast home. Think African Penguins in tuxedos, diving Cape Gannets doing splashy stunts, and goofy gulls squawking like they own the beach!

Seabirds aren’t just cute and quirky — they’re ocean superheroes. They tell us if the sea is healthy, help spread nutrients (yes, even their poo helps!), and keep fish numbers in balance. But sadly, their world is getting messy with plastic, oil spills, and disappearing fish.

That’s why Marine Month matters. It reminds us to keep our oceans clean, protect coastal homes, and be kind to our feathered beach buddies.

So, this October, do your part! Say no to plastic, clean up your snacks, and shout “Waddle we do without seabirds?!” while doing your best penguin dance.

Because when we care for the sea, we care for them all — beaks, feathers, and flippers included!
