Individual Action Projects - Climate Countdown

2 Jul 2026

Here are some powerful (and super fun!) ways you can take climate action while protecting our precious biodiversity! 🌍🐾 Every small action helps slow the effects of climate change, keeps habitats healthy, and protects the amazing plants and animals that call our planet home. 🌿💚

1. Switch-Off Superstar – 50 points

Become the boss of buttons! Turn off lights, TVs, and chargers when you’re not using them—every switch helps slow the Climate Countdown! 🌍⏰

2. Shower Power Challenge – 75 points

Race the clock in the shower! Shorter showers = more water saved and less energy used. The planet says, “thank you!” 🌊 💧

3. Grow-a-Green Hero- 150 points

Plant something—anything! Herbs, flowers, or veggies. Plants are tiny climate warriors that help clean the air we breathe. 🌱

4. Feet vs Fuel Challenge – 100 points

Walk instead of driving for short trips. Your feet are officially climate-friendly transport! 🚴‍♂️💨

5. Clean Plate Countdown – 50 points

Finish your food and reduce leftovers. Food waste creates gases that speed up climate change—so be a plate hero! 🍽️

6. Plastic-Free Power Hour – 50 points

Try avoiding single-use plastic for a day. Every swap helps reduce pollution and protects our oceans 🌊

7. Bin Detective Mission — 100 points

Do a home waste audit and identify what can be reduced, reused, or recycled. Climate action starts in your bin!

8. Bottle Boss Swap — 100 points

Switch from disposable bottles or cups to a reusable one. Less waste = less climate pollution 🌍

9. Energy Tracker Detective — 150 points

Track how much electricity your home uses for a day and identify ways to reduce it. Become a real climate data hero! See example below.

10. Greenhouse Story Creator — 150 points

Draw or write a short story explaining the greenhouse effect like a superhero battle between Earth and heat-trapping gases!
