Individual Action Projects!

11 May 2026

Here are some powerful ways you can take action to help protect our precious biodiversity and stand up against biodiversity crime! Simply send us a picture of your action, and we will assign your points to you as a true Wild Watcher helping to keep nature safe 🐾🌿

  • Biodiversity Crime Awareness Poster 100 points 📣🎨

Lights, markers, action! Create a bold and colourful Biodiversity Crime Awareness Poster that spills the tea on what biodiversity crime is, why it’s a big deal right here in the Western Cape, and how everyday heroes can report it—don’t forget to add the hotline (0860 111 106) so everyone knows who to call when nature needs backup!

  • Wildlife Crime Hotline Hero Training 100 points 📱🦸‍♂️

Every wildlife hero needs a game plan! Train like a pro by creating your very own Wildlife Crime Hotline Hero Guide Card — pack it with a quick ‘What is biodiversity crime?’ cheat sheet, smart emergency steps for when you spot wildlife in trouble, and important contacts like CapeNature — then snap a pic of your design and get ready to report like a real ranger on a mission!

  • Caught on Camera (the GOOD kind!) 50-100 points 🌿🚨

Snap photos of wildlife in safe, natural settings—no feeding or disturbing! Bonus points for sharing messages about protecting them.

  • Leave It Where You Found It 25 points each

Found a cool shell, feather, or plant? Admire it, snap a pic, and leave it—because removing natural items can harm ecosystems. Take memories, not souvenirs!

International Day for Biological Diversity

Biodiversity means the variety of life on Earth, including all the plants, animals, insects, and other living things on the planet. Without these living things, the world would be a very different place. We need plants and animals to survive, and they need us to take care of them!

Protecting biodiversity is important for us all. What can you do today to help protect the plants and animals that live around us?
