In Love With Nature

21 Jan 2023

What could possibly be more romantic than a secluded cabin overlooking the Indian Ocean or in the midst of an enchanted forest? Nothing. The answer is nothing. Spoil your loved one with a booking at Whiskey Creek, Fountain Shack or one of CapeNature’s eco-cabins, glamping, camping sites.

Whiskey Creek

The romantic Whiskey Creek Cabin, located 7km upstream from the entrance of Keurbooms River Nature Reserve, is the picture of perfection.

The cabin has an open-air kitchen shaded by a veranda roof and an expansive deck with a braai area - great for dinner under the night skies. It’s an adventure-packed activity just getting there because the cabin can only be reached via canoe and the scenery is breathtaking. But don’t take our word for it, find out firsthand.

Fountain Shack

Overlooking the Indian ocean, with never-ending views of the Robberg Peninsula, the renovated wooden shack sleeps eight people in four double bunk beds in an open-plan room but is also perfect for a romantic getaway with your loved one.

Hidden discreetly between the sand and the sea at Robberg Nature Reserve, Fountain Shack cannot be reached by vehicle and the only way to access it is during a hike.

The route starts at the car park and is clearly marked with a seal icon. Follow the boardwalk until it gives way to rambling rocks, proceed with caution and keep going until you reach the cement steps. Further on the beach pathway delivers you to Fountain Shack. With the waves and the whispering winds, and the best South African sunsets, what more could you want?

Glamping at Grootvadersbosch Nature Reserve

No hiking or canoeing involved here, just comfort and luxury in a five-star setting on the Grootvadersbosch Nature Reserve.

There are five glamping tents to choose from, all separated by wooden fences for optimal privacy. Each tent is fully furnished for maximum comfort and convenience. Walk to the nearby waterfall or visit the bird hide hidden among towering trees, this is the perfect place to become one with nature and reconnect with your favourite person. Best of all, you can do it in luxury but still enjoy the same outdoor experience.

Mbali Collection

The Mbali Collection at Kogelberg Nature Reserve consists of five x 2-sleeper glass-front cabins: Chincherinchee, Strooiblommetjie, Impepho, Sundew, Golden Star.

The accommodation overlooks the ever-green mountains and snaking Palmiet River.

You can enjoy an open plan bedroom, lounge, dining and kitchen area with one-bathroom, outdoor braai facility and a deck. Hikes on the Kogelberg Biosphere are highly recommended and if the river is full definitely look into booking a super-tube adventure, it is hours of water fun, and the guides are delightful.
