Group Action Projects

5 Feb 2025

Group leaders - check out the group action project list for this term:

1. Energy audit of your school or a community building

Kids can walk around the school and identify areas where energy is being wasted, such as lights left on, appliances not being turned off or doors left open. They can then propose solutions for reducing energy consumption. Send us your audit and earn 200 points.

2. Create a “Power Down” checklist

Design a checklist for turning off unnecessary appliances, lights, and computers at the end of the school day. Kids can lead the effort in ensuring the checklist is followed. Send us an image of your groups checklist and earn 100 points!

3. Composting for energy savings

Teach children how composting food waste reduces the need for energy to process garbage. They can start a compost bin at school or community. Earn 200 points – send us a picture of the compost bin.

4. Energy saving pledge wall

Set up a wall where students can pledge to save energy at school and home. Create posters to encourage good energy-saving habits. Send us a picture of your wall and earn 100 points if just started (no pledges yet) and 150 points with a few pledges on the wall.

5. Energy-efficient light bulbs campaign

Organise a campaign to replace incandescent bulbs with energy-efficient LED lights around the school or at a community building. Teach kids about the long-term savings and environmental impact. Earn 25 points for each bulb replaced. Send us a picture of the replaced bulbs (before and after) to earn points.
